Hillary

I am a daughter, sister, wife and mother, trying to love the Lord with all my heart and to love my neighbors as myself. I am passionate about serving and supporting children and families, building relationships, and learning. 

I am a native Kentuckian who moved to Virginia in 2001 to attend the University of Virginia. At UVA, I met my husband, Jamie, and we have made our home in Central Virginia since we graduated and got married in 2005. 

I believe that kids matter. Prior to joining the Kids Ministry team at Gayton, I served as a special educator and reading specialist in the Hanover County Public Schools for 14 years. I have a bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies and a master’s degree in Education. I am excited to combine both to support children and families as a member of the Kids Min team.

I love reading historical fiction, watching movies, running, journaling, cleaning (seriously) and chicken nachos. When I'm not at church, you can find me watching our son play baseball, basketball, or flag football; listening to our daughter play the violin, piano, or ukelele; leading our Girl Scout troop; or walking our border-beagle, Luna.
